What is SCAA?

THE SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA AQUATIC ASSOCIATION is a non-profit coalition of swimming clubs, teams, and similar organizations that are joined together for the purposes of promoting amateur aquatic sports, encouraging the development of local aquatic skill, providing an opportunity for inter-club competition, and supporting the objectives and aims of United States Swimming.

ORGANIZED MORE THAN 30 YEARS AGO, SCAA remains Southern California's premiere competitive swim league for swimmers from five to eighteen years of age. Member teams offer training in all competitive swim strokes and opportunities for young swimmers to participate in team-oriented competition with swimmers their own age. Teams in the league vary in size from a few dozen to more than a hundred swimmers, offering excellent opportunities for competition with teams of all kinds.

SCAA MEMBER TEAMS EMPHASIZE CAMMARADERIE and the development of team spirit. The format of league competition favors small swim meets that are usually completed in a few hours. While most meets involve only two or three teams, the league also sponsors summer and winter championship meets in which all SCAA teams may participate. No entry fees are charged for SCAA dual meets or championships. Other league events include relay and distance meets, and approved invitationals sponsored by SCAA member teams.

ALL SCAA TEAMS AND THEIR MEMBERS are affiliated with United States Swimming, the nation's governing authority for amateur competitive swimming. USS registration enables advancing swimmers to test their skills against the best in Southern California - and beyond - in swim meets that can lead to national recognition.
